The Katelyn Joy Derstine Scholarship Fund, Inc. held its first annual spring fundraiser at Roy's Hawaiian Fusion Cosine on April 22, 2008.

Eleven "Fly High Award" candidates introduced themselves to the sold out crowd while Bambi Famous Kaine, President, along with the family, committee, advisory board and supportive community, announced that in this tough economic year all eleven candidates would be recipients of the 2008 "Fly High Award." Roy's donated the event in kind and over $8500 was raised from the event which included a silent auction with selections from many local vendors.
